1. What Y2mate does
Y2mate is a free, browser-based tool. You give it a link to a public YouTube video, and it lists the video and audio files YouTube offers for that video, with a button for each one. Y2mate itself never hosts, saves, edits or converts media: every download is served by YouTube.
2. Your responsibilities
Y2mate is meant for lawful, personal use. By using it you promise to:
- download only videos you made yourself, videos whose licence permits downloading (Creative Commons, for example), or videos whose owner has said you may keep a copy;
- follow copyright law, YouTube’s own rules and the laws that apply where you live;
- keep downloads for yourself unless the rights holder agrees to you sharing, selling or screening them.
3. What is not allowed
- Flooding the service with automated requests from bots, scripts or scrapers.
- Attempting to probe, attack or bypass the security of Y2mate or of the services behind it.
- Using Y2mate to break the law or to violate someone else’s rights.
- Passing Y2mate off as your own product, embedding it in a frame on another site, or charging others for access to it.
4. Services run by others
Y2mate relies on an outside data provider to look up download options, and the files themselves come from YouTube. Neither is under our control, so we cannot answer for their uptime, their content or their rules.
Y2mate is run independently. YouTube and Google do not own, operate, sponsor or endorse it. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
5. Availability
We try hard to keep Y2mate quick and working, yet some videos will not be downloadable, some formats will be missing, and the site may now and then be down. Any feature can change, pause or be withdrawn, with or without notice.
6. No warranty
Y2mate comes “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law permits, we give no promises of any kind, stated or implied, including that the tool suits a particular purpose or runs without mistakes.
7. Limitation of liability
Where the law allows, the team behind Y2mate cannot be held responsible for indirect or consequential damage, lost data or other harm that results from visiting the site or from files fetched through it. How you use downloaded content is up to you, and so is the responsibility for it.
8. Copyright concerns
No videos are hosted on Y2mate. If a YouTube video infringes your rights, report it to YouTube so it is taken down at the source. You can also write to us at [email protected] and we will look into it.
9. Updates to these terms
These terms can change. When they do, the date shown near the top of the page changes with them, and continuing to use Y2mate after that date counts as accepting the new version.
